We are happy to announce we got married this Saint Patrick’s Day, as a nod to our original wedding plan. On a rooftop in NYC overlooking Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, we had a special ceremony with immediate family, officiated by our Dads. We celebrated at an Irish pub with pints of Guinness and toasted to a bright future. We look forward to celebrating with you all soon. Sláinte! The Tafts
In January 2011 we both set off to study abroad at the National University of Ireland, Galway. After just a few days of being in the country we met while studying in the campus library…. Okay, maybe it was over a pint of Guinness at a pub on Quay Street! Which pub we met at is still disputed to this day. We spent the next 6 months traveling around Ireland and exploring other countries together. Miraculously, we even scored the highest GPA’s of our college careers that semester. Thank God Ireland grades on a different scale! Once we were back in the States, we traveled between Bates College and Fairfield University. After we graduated the traveling continued, this time between Boston and New York City. In 2016, we finally settled down in Charlestown, MA and happily call it home. On February 23rd Will proposed at Pier 6 in the Charlestown Navy Yard, a favorite spot of ours, right around the corner from our apartment. That night we celebrated our engagement over dinner at the Navy Yard Bistro joined by all of our family. We think it is only fitting to return to Galway to get married! We couldn’t be more excited to have our family and friends visit our favorite city to celebrate with us and experience the magic of Galway!
