We eloped and were married in North Carolina: a small church, white picket fence, and a Methodist minister named Daniel Boone. Years later, for a 30th anniversary we bought wedding clothes, hired a photographer, then traveled to Italy where a horse drawn carriage took us on a romantic tour of Florence.
