Established in 1987, Midway Cafe is one of the last of its kind in Boston with a variety of live music 7 days a week. If you find yourself looking for something to do Friday night, head to Hippie Hour for great Dead covers and even better dancing. Can't make it? Our friend Uncle Johnny will be playing our wedding! :)
The Freedom Trail is an obvious choice, but did you know Boston has a National Park? Their Ranger-guided tours are a great way to see parts of downtown, Charlestown, Boston Harbor Islands, and more. Start at the Faneuil Hall Visitor Center. If you get lucky, our friend/officiant Park Ranger Shawn might be your tour guide.
Tom says Fenway Park might only be open for tours in October. No matter where the Sox are, the neighborhood is still a lot of fun. Some of our favorite spots include Time Out Market, Trillium Brewery, Eventide, Sweet Cheeks BBQ, and the Sausage Guys mobile cart on Lansdowne Street, "behind the Monstah!"
The North End is Boston's Italian-American neighborhood and is home to many historic sites and delicious food. Wander the cobblestone streets, and you may stumble upon Paul Revere's House or catch a whiff of the Great Molasses Flood of 1919. Decide for yourself the best cannoli in town: Modern Pastry, Mike's Pastry, or our personal favorite Bova Bakery. The original Regina Pizza, famous since 1926, is worth the wait in line, along with cash-only Giacomo's.
