Great question. Please RSVP by July 25th. If you have to RSVP later than that date please reach out to either Tricia or Eric and let them know. Thank you!
First, congratulations on landing safely! Second, the choice is yours. Taking a Lyft/Uber from Toronto to Port Perry is an option albeit the most expensive if you'd like to use it though take a look here: https://www.flyontario.com/parking-transports/lyft-uber Once in Port Perry please note that Uber is available in Port Perry. Lyft (while it may drive you to Port Perry from the airport) is not available in Port Perry. We highly recommend renting your own vehicle once at Toronto airport. If you do not choose to do so, please visit this helpful site to review your options: https://www.rome2rio.com/s/Toronto/Port-Perry
We have noticed that when you type in "3085 Hood Drive", you see "Seagrave ON L0C 1G0", please note that Seagrave is not correct. Please make sure that you type in the Address: 3085 Hood Drive, Port Perry ON, L9L 1B6 Canada.
We need you to be safe and to keep yourself safe throughout the entire wedding weekend. Here are some helpful things to note: Please only use voice command on your phones while driving. There is a fine for distracted driving (yes this means texting) it is 1000$. Please review this website for more information: https://www.ontario.ca/page/distracted-driving In 2018, Canada became the second country to legalize cannabis, however, if you are traveling with it, it is helpful to be aware of the law. Please review this website: https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/travel-voyage/cannabis-eng.html Ontario is a zero tolerance province (no underage drinking under any circumstances) and has very strict laws if you are driving under the influence. NEVER drink and drive, please use Uber or check out https://keystous.com/ Please review this website for more information on the laws in Ontario: http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/safety/impaired-driving.shtml
If you are flying in to Toronto, please aim to fly into Toronto Pearson Int'l Airport. Yes, try Porter Airlines, they're pretty great! Here are the websites for the two above: https://www.torontopearson.com/en https://www.flyporter.com/en-ca/
There are a plethora of options. Two of which are hotel blocks that the couple has codes for discounts. Please check out the Travel tab for more information about this. We wouldn't recommend staying in Toronto the night of the wedding, as that would mean over an hour drive to and from the wedding venue without traffic, with traffic this can take up to two hours. Be mindful of distance, Canada is big and we don't want you to be lost in a land of kindness and maple syrup.
On September 1, 2019, there are charter buses scheduled to arrive at 1:30 pm leave at 1:45 pm sharp from: Residence Inn, Marriott 160 Consumers Dr, Whitby, ON L1N 9S3 and Best Western Plus: 559 BLOOR ST W Oshawa, ON L1J 5Y6 If you wish to take the bus to the wedding venue please make your way to the above locations.
You will need your passport, even IF you are driving. Other than that, please feel free to bring whatever else (within reason) you'd like!
The truth is, we won't know until a few days before. So please prepare. In fact, we encourage you to bring raincoats, umbrellas, maybe a pair of warm gloves or hand warmers just in case. In case of rain, we will shift the wedding either 15 to 20 minutes (if needed a full half-hour). There will be umbrellas available for the ceremony and if it's just a lite drizzle (the show will go on).
If you are not comfortable creating your own, please feel free to share a haiku or limerick from a poet you know or write them a meaningful quote.
The ceremony starts at 3:00 pm, please be mindful of the time and plan to arrive by 2:30 pm or 2:45 pm at the latest.
Yes! Of course, children bring light and laughter. We are not providing childcare during the reception or ceremony, so please keep that in mind. There will be children's activities and coloring books for entertainment.
Yes, there will be signs to guide you as to where to park at the wedding venue. It is free!
In short, we'd like to be fancy here, but the wedding is still taking place on a farm. Wear your formal dress, wear your cocktail dress. Wear your tuxedo, wear your suit. Be mindful of footwear. We can guarantee that Tricia and Eric will be their fanciest.
The Welcome Party will have a cash bar available to you, there will be hors d'oeuvres served throughout. The Wedding Reception will have an open bar.
