In August of 2020, Trey had added me on Snapchat, although it took some convincing. I was getting ready to be a Senior in high school and was not looking for a relationship. Before I knew it, we were texting nonstop and spending every free moment we had together. He officially asked me to be his girlfriend on September 5, 2020 while we were at Indiana Beach celebrating labor day with my family. Since then, we have adopted two dogs, one cat, and made a beautiful little life for ourselves. Trey popped the big question on April 12, 2025 (our birthday) and I am convinced he did it that day because he knew I would be suspicious any other day. The night before our birthday he gave me my gift early which was a dress that I had wanted but did not want to buy for myself to wear out on our date, a pair of converse with hearts embroidered on them (my favorite holiday is Valentine's Day) and a ring pop. He said, "Since I can't get you a ring yet, will this one do?" He could have actually proposed with that and it still would have been a yes. The next night we went out for our normal birthday dinner at Red Robin (where we went on our first date) while our moms decorated our house for our engagement. He took me to target because I needed some things while we were in town and bought me some beautiful flowers. When we got home he took me in the house where there was tealight candles and pink/white rose petals leading the way to our kitchen. In the kitchen there was a heart made with the tea light candles and rose petals with a letter board wax warmer on the counter that said "Will you marry me?" I turned around and he was on his knee and he didn't get but a few words out before I said yes. We are so excited to be taking this next step in our lives together and with our closest family and friends. It won't be long until we are the next Mr. and Mrs. Wilken!
