Walking the Brooklyn Bridge is FREE and offers unparalleled views of the city. Walk it from Manhattan and end up in downtown Brooklyn near the waterway and the famous Jane's Carousel and iconic DUMBO, or if you're staying in BK walk it into Manhattan and land in the South Street Seaport for great food, shopping, and sites.
The High Line is one of our favorite things in NYC. It's an elevated greenway converted from elevated rail tracks. You can walk all the way from 13th street near the water on the westside up to 34th street and hop off for some great shopping at Hudson Yards and take a look at the Vessel while you're at it. Or stop earlier at Chelsea Market for great local food stands and artisans. No matter what the views from the walk are worth it and you'll see some amazing architecture along the way. Oh and did we mention it's free?
The best cookies in NYC HANDS DOWN! There are 6 locations in Manhattan, 1 in Astoria, and 1 in Williamsburg (a 10 minute walk from the hotel). They have breads, loaves, and pastries as well but you MUST get the dark chocolate peanut butter chip cookie, don't even play with us!
The Met is one of our go to places in NYC when we want some culture or just want to shake it up a little! It's a great place to get lost and it's right by Central Park. Hot tip: If you can get an NY resident with you tickets are pay what you can! We may be busy, but make a friend at our wedding!
The Natural History Museum is another NYC staple and they just opened a brand new butterfly vivarium!
