While they technically first met in Knoxville, TN on a campus ministry spring break trip, Trey and Jasmine didn't get to know each other until years later. When Jasmine graduated from Campbell (roll humps), she moved to Raleigh and joined staff at Antioch to help lead the college ministry. Trey was finishing up his last year at NC State (go pack) and was also leading in the college ministry. Most of the college events happened in the neighborhood where Trey lived, so they began spending more time together and got to know each other better. Friends turned into better friends until Trey knew he wanted to ask Jasmine on a date. His first attempt flopped as she was completely oblivious that he was trying to ask her a question while she was leaving an event. Thankfully he called when she got home and she excitedly said yes! Shortly after in October 2019, they began dating officially. A few months later and exactly two years after the Knoxville trip, they went on yet another spring break trip with Antioch - this time to Washington D.C. It was here where both of them realized that they were falling for each other and at the end of the trip they expressed that to each other. It was perfect timing because this was also the week when the world shut down. They had to learn how to date in quarantine and ended up spending lots of time doing puzzles, watching movies, going for walks, and picnicking at Pullen Park. At around their one-year anniversary, they both knew that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together and Trey started planning a proposal. Fast forward through lots of planning to February 27th, 2021, and Trey (finally: edit by Jasmine) asked her to marry him! Now they are planning their wedding for October 2021 and absolutely cannot wait to celebrate with their closest friends and family!
