Trey and I met at our jobs in college. I ended up asking him if he would like to come with me to a date party and he said yes! We had so much fun together and have been best friends ever since.
We went down to New Orleans, our favorite place, for a family wedding. A few weeks before I had been trying to get Trey to give any hints that he was going to propose, but knowing Trey, he kept throwing me off. On our last full day in Nola, Trey asked if I would go downtown with him and his brother, Andrew, in the morning. It was still pretty early, but we love to go to the Jackson Square first to look at local artists and vendors. There was no one out yet, but since it was a Sunday morning, people were walking into the Saint Louis Cathedral to go to church. We walked through the Square, the bells were ringing, no one was around, and he got down on one knee and asked me to spend forever with him.
We decided a long time ago that when we get married, we just want it to be about us and our love for each other. With that decision, we thought it would be best for us to have a small, intimate ceremony with immediate family. Our ceremony will be held on July 16th, at August Busch Wildlife Conservation, and Trey's father will ordain our marriage. We are so excited to celebrate with everyone else at our reception on August 21st!
