April and Trey met in mid October of 2018 through mutual friends. They exchanged numbers and after several days of texts and phone calls, they decided to go out on halloween night. They spent the night at a local bar to have drinks and get to know each other. Later that night when Trey took April home, she told her best friend that she met "the one" and that they were going to get married. After that halloween night, Trey and April were inseparable!!

April got a text from her sister, who is a local wedding photographer, inviting April and Trey to an award ceremony held by the Charlotte Observer. April's sister told her that she was nominated for Charlotte's best wedding photographer and wanted April and Trey to join her to celebrate. April accepted the invitation but little did she know that her sister and Trey had something else planned for that night. On September 12th, 2020, Trey proposed to April on top of a parking deck in the heart of uptown Charlotte.
