We're getting married!

Ok so boom! It was October of 2022, when Caleb (Best man) added Trey (the love of my life) to a FaceTime call to weigh in on what was probably another stupid debate. I couldn't really see much but Caleb said "this is my brother, T-Bizzle " and I heard that Baltimore accent carried by a deep voice. I don't remember what all was said that day but I remember thinking "aww he is so nice." After that we often had group calls a few times a week with Caleb, Nick (Groomsmen), Emily (Bridesmaid) and sometimes Mekai (Best man). Over the following few weeks we got to know each other. Trey had a way of making me feel special whenever we talked. He'd ask about my hobbies and interest and he would tell me about his. Sometimes it would feel like we were the only two on the phone. Eventually the group made plans to meet up in Harrisonburg VA to hang out in person. Although I enjoyed talking to him, I thought for sure he was only being nice....you know trying not to get my hopes up. Everyone but Trey met up at Caleb's house then from there we rode to a rec center in Harrisonburg. I remember texting my mom on the way there, jokingly but also kind of serious , "omg what if this is my man?" She hit me with the "I guess we'll see" lol she didn't wanna get my hopes up either. We met up in the parking lot and YALLLLL!! That feeling they say you get when you meet "the one" is REAL! After some small chit chat and what felt like forever trying to play it cool, the guys played basketball and the girls (me and Emily) sat in some nearby chairs. I said to Emily "I know I just met you but I gotta tell you a secret" after making her promise not to say a word, I said "I think I like him" and gestured in Trey's direction. We giggled about it for a little while until he came over and sat with us. We talked for a bit before leaving. Once we got to back to the parking lot he said he had something for me and went and got the cutes little jade plant from his car. (I told him on the phone that I liked plants) My heart was so full in that moment, you could not tell me that this was not my man lol. We went to Capital Ale House and by this point I was trying to think of how I can make a move, so I offered him a bite of my sandwich. Now that we are comfortable he always takes a bite of my food but I guess back then he was trying to be polite so he declined. I don't know why this felt like the ultimate rejection. After we ate, he said he wanted to show me a few spots he thought I'd like. The first place was a cute coffee shop and the second was an art boutique, two things I told him I liked over the phone. For the rest of the night we found ourselves a few steps behind the group talking and laughing, basically falling in love lol. It was getting late and I had a pretty long drive ahead of me so we all parted ways. As soon as I pulled in my driveway I got a text from Prince Charming himself "making sure I got home ok", that's when I knew I was in there! We talked everyday for the next two weeks over text and over the phone and it was always the sweetest and most genuine conversations, sometimes lasting for hours. After about a month we made it official and its been nothing but bliss ever since!
