Diamante Eco Adventure Park
Diamante Eco Adventure Park offers the best and largest zipline in Costa Rica, a wildlife sanctuary with sloths, jaguars, and toucans, ATV tours, horseback riding, and cultural tours that teach about the production of cacao, coffee, and sugarcane. Free shuttles available from the Riu Palace (~5min drive from resort).
Playa Del Coco
Playa Del Coco is a soft golden-sand beach known for snorkeling, scuba diving, and spotting diverse marine life, including rays, tropical fish, and even the occasional shark. The town center has local shops, restaurants, and bars, as well as a bustling nightlife scene. A local tour company, ScubaCaribe, runs frequent water taxis to Playa Del Coco. Water taxis leave the hotel each day on the hour from 8am-4pm, and returns to the hotel each day on the half-hour from 8:30am-4:30pm. Travel time is 15-20 minutes, and costs $27 USD per person round-trip. Departs from the Dive Center on the beach in front of the Riu Palace. Tamarindo
Tamarindo Beach is a white-sand beach known for its surfing, warm water, and lively nightlife. A local tour company, ScubaCaribe, offers day trips by car to Tamarindo. The drive from the hotel takes around 1 hour and must be booked in advance. This excursion allows 4 hours in Tamarindo, with two different tour options available.
