How We Met

If anyone would have told me growing up that I would meet the man I would marry on a dating app then I would have laughed and not believed a single word. I have always been a pretty traditional person and the thought of using technology to meet someone seemed far from something I would ever consider. Surprisingly enough, look where we are now. What first started as a joke from my sister and friend telling me 'why not' turned into a very unexpected relationship. Trevor and I had our first date a week after we started talking. And as it’s said- the rest is history. I think Trevor and I can both agree that we never expected to be where we currently are in the seemingly short time we have known each other, but our relationship was meant to be from the start. It always has seemed like we've known each other a lifetime and now lifetime is what we get to spend together. -Sarah

Our Proposal

I picked up the ring on a Saturday afternoon and headed to Bald Knob to meet up with Sarah and her parents. Her mom, Mrs. Amy, knew I was picking it up that day and once I got to Bald Knob, she had to see it. Mrs. Amy’s eyes filled with tears, as well as my own, when she first saw it. The main diamond on Sarah’s engagement ring was from her grandmother, so it was extra special for Amy to see. The same evening, we found out that Peebles Farms was opening the following weekend and we knew that would the perfect spot for the proposal. Amy and I coordinated all week so that both of our families could be there for Sarah and I’s special moment. Sunday, 9/26/21, came and I was an absolute nervous wreck, even though I had no reason to be. Sarah and myself made the drive to Bald Knob to have a “random” lunch with her parents. While eating, Mrs. Amy suggested we all go over to Peebles to see the sunflowers. And it just so happened that my family was visiting Peebles the same day. Once arrived, my nerves were getting the better of me. I was nervously walking and barely spoke. I think Sarah was catching on to my awkwardness. Nonetheless, we walked into the farm and spotted a good place to take some pictures. We took a few photos, then I stepped back, reached into my pocket, and asked the Love of my Life if she would marry me. Luckily, she said yes! And now we get to plan the rest of our lives together. -Trevor
