¡Bienvenidos a la Ciudad de México! We are thrilled to welcome you to this vibrant and enchanting city for our upcoming wedding celebration. Mexico City, often referred to as "CDMX," is a place where ancient history meets modern elegance, and where every corner tells a story of rich culture and warm hospitality. For those of you who don't know, Mauricio lived in Mexico City for 7 years and we go back to visit friends as often as possible. We are so excited to share with you some of our favorite things to do!
Pyramids of Teotihuacan

Pyramids of Teotihuacan

San Martín de las Pirámides, Méx. 55825, Mexico

The pyramids are located approximately 25 miles northeast of Mexico City. Here's how you can get there: Consider booking a guided tour from Mexico City to Teotihuacan. Many tour operators offer guided tours that include transportation, an expert guide, and sometimes even lunch. This option provides you with a hassle-free experience and the opportunity to learn more about the history and significance of the site. If you prefer to drive, you can rent a car in Mexico City and follow the signs to Teotihuacan. The drive takes about one hour, depending on traffic. You can also take a taxi or use a ride-sharing service (such as Uber) from Mexico City to Teotihuacan. This option offers more flexibility but may be more expensive than the bus. Important Tips: Consider visiting Teotihuacan early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid the midday heat and crowds. Wear comfortable clothing, sunscreen, and a hat, and bring plenty of water.

Historic center of Mexico City

Mexico City, CDMX, Mexico

Exploring downtown Mexico City, also known as the Historic Center (Centro Histórico), is a captivating experience filled with history, culture, and vibrant street life. Start at the Zócalo: Begin your day at the Zócalo, one of the largest city squares in the world. Admire the impressive Mexico City Metropolitan Cathedral on one side and the National Palace on the other. Don't miss the opportunity to take a stroll and people-watch in this bustling public space. Visit the National Palace: If you're interested in history and art, consider entering the National Palace. Inside, you'll find Diego Rivera's famous murals depicting Mexico's history. Entrance is free, but be prepared for security checks. Dine at a Traditional Restaurant: We recommend Café de Tacuba or Azul Historico. Shop on Madero Street. Walk to the Palacio de Bellas Artes, an architectural gem that hosts exhibitions and performances. Even if you don't go inside, the exterior itself is a masterpiece.

Tulum/Cancun/San Miguel De Allende

For those of you who would like to make the most out of the trip and extend your vacation, there are many places that you can go to that are just a few hours away from Mexico City. Some places we would recommend are: 1. San Miguel De Allende - picturesque and enchanting town located in the central highlands of Mexico. Known for its colonial architecture, rich cultural heritage, and artistic community, San Miguel de Allende is often described as one of Mexico's most charming and vibrant destinations. You can take a 3 hour bus ride from CDMX or rent a car. There are plenty of nice hotels and AirBnB's to stay overnight. 2. Tulum - For anyone who wants to go to the beach! Take a 1.5 hour flight from CDMX to Cancun. You then will need to take a cab or car rental and drive roughly 1.5-2 hours. We have plenty of more recommendations.
