FAQs

Question

Where do we fly into?

Answer

We suggest you fly into PDX as this will put you just 45 minutes from our venue. However, if you need to Seattle can sometimes be a cheaper flight depending on how much a rental car is. Please keep in mind that Seattle is 3 hours away from the venue.

Question

Where are we staying?

Answer

Please review the lodging tab on this website. The wedding is going to be located at Mt. Hood Meadows. Most people will be staying at Cooper Spur Mountain Resort roughly 15 minutes from the wedding venue. Another popular option is the Best Western located outside Government Camp roughly 25 minutes away from the wedding venue. There are also options in Hood River 45-60 minutes away from the wedding venue.

Question

What else can we do in Oregon?

Answer

We would love for you to check out our detailed explanations of what we love to do in Oregon on the Visiting Oregon tab of this website. It all comes down to how long you can stay and what you like to do.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Oregon is surprisingly hot during the middle of July, but each summer seems to bring its own flavor of weather. It typically doesn't rain in July, but a rain jacket is still nice to bring if planning to visit the coast. We predict it will be roughly 85-95 degrees during the day, but this could drop to 60-70 at night. Make sure to bring a light jacket for enjoying beautiful starry nights.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Our wedding will be outdoors on Mt. Hood at about 3,000 ft elevation, so plan for mountain weather and a ski resort setting. • Dress code: Mountain elevated cocktail attire • Shoes: Block heels, wedges, platforms, or flats are strongly recommended. The venue is a ski resort with metal grate stairs and uneven outdoor areas, so stilettos are not practical. • Layers: Even though it’s July, evenings on Mt. Hood can drop into the 40s–50s°F, especially after sunset. Bring a jacket, shawl, or layer for the evening and after-party. • Colors: Our wedding colors are green, merlot, and suede tones. Guests are welcome to wear colors that complement this palette, but please avoid wearing green, as the bridesmaids will be in that color. • Sun: The ceremony and cocktail hour may have sun exposure, so sunglasses or sunscreen may come in handy. Think mountain elevated cocktail attire — polished but comfortable for a mountain setting. 🌲✨

Question

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

Most likely, yes — unless you’re able to carpool with someone to Cooper Spur. If you’re staying at the cabins, we’ll have a shuttle bus running to and from the wedding venue on Saturday, so you won’t need to worry about driving that evening. However, once you’re at Cooper Spur you’ll be in a beautiful but fairly remote mountain area, and most restaurants, stores, and activities are 20+ minutes away by car. Rideshares and Ubers can also be limited or slow in the mountains, especially late at night. Renting a car when you arrive in Portland can make the weekend easier — especially if you plan to explore the Mt. Hood area or travel around Oregon before or after the wedding. Rental options include: • Traditional rentals at Portland International Airport (PDX) • Costco Travel car rentals (often one of the best prices) • Turo if you prefer a peer-to-peer rental • One-way rentals if you’re flying into one city and out of another If you’re staying with friends at Cooper Spur, carpooling is a great option too. 🚗🌲
