We first met about 5 years ago... Trevor had just moved to Las Vegas and started going to the same church that I was going to. There was no interest from either side in the beginning, we were just friends, never hanging out alone but we were in the same friend group. Fast forward about 2.5 years later, Trevor had invited his brother, Austin, to church a few times and after service my friend and I went to eat with just Trevor and his brother. This happened maybe 2 or 3 times and over those few weeks I noticed Trevor texting me more frequently and wondered if he was trying to make a move. One day we got a casual dinner, just us two for the first time, at a little taco place on our way to a church event and not too many days after that he officially asked me on a date. A few months, and many taco dates later, he officially asked me to be his girlfriend :)
Trevor and I had a trip planned to go wine tasting with his friends Jeff and Taylor to celebrate his birthday. We left on a Thursday night and had planned to come back Monday. While the four of us were driving up to San Luis Obispo, Jeff's wife, Taylor, was really drilling Trevor with questions on when and why he hadn't proposed already. I had an itch that he may be proposing some time this weekend but thanks to Taylors amazing acting she really had me questioning that. The next morning we had planned a little hike to go see some cool cliffs and the beach on the California coast before going to a winery. Trevor asked Jeff if he wanted a picture of him and Taylor and then it was our turn to take a picture. As soon as we switched spots Trevor grabbed my hand and said "I didn't bring you all the way out here just for a hike" I immediately started crying because I knew what was about to happen. Then, he took his phone out and through his tears he read the sweetest message that he had written for this moment. He ended on one knee asking me to marry him. It was the best moment of our lives so far, I'm tearing up just writing this and re-living that day. We are on cloud nine and we are so blessed to be able to share our excitement with you!
