If you work closely with Speech Therapists, you know they loooooove to spout their credentials -- making sure those well-earned acronyms make it into every signature page, assessment report, and mistakenly in emails to family members by force of habit. For those who aren't aware, "MS, CCC-SLP" roughly translates to "this person holds a Masters of Science Degree and is accredited by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association with the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP)." Trevor Jordan, MS CCC-SLP and Karee Lundy, MS CCC-SLP met at Stone Brewery in Escondido during a happy hour organized by their friend and co-worker Benjamin Bennett (also MS CCC-SLP). They spent that first day laughing with their friends, complaining about caseload numbers and frustrating parents, and wondering if they both felt the same spark as the other person. As time went on, Trevor and Karee found familiarity, comfort, and passion in each other as they helped each other with complicated Speech cases, laughed with friends, and learned more about each other. Since their first date in Seaport Village -- by no coincidence the location of their wedding -- Trevor and Karee have been inseparable. Their love for kids, playing board games at breweries, Jason Mraz, rock-climbing, laughter, Mexican food, and each other has continued to grow -- and ultimately Karee and Trevor decided that they wanted to continue to be this happy forever. If you know Karee, you know that she's always had a heart for children; and she chose a career that gave her the opportunity to help kids communicate while also raising her two beautiful boys, Judah and Jackson. If you know Trevor, he's been wanting to be a Dad since he was about 16 years old. The day he met Karee after work with Jackson at the park with coffee -- and saw her as the most beautiful mother in the world -- he knew he was screwed. As Trevor and the boys got to know each other, it was like puzzle pieces falling into place. "Mr Trevor" and Judah bonded over board games, Pokemon, and drawing, while "Trev" and Jackson grew close throwing around a baseball, playing guitar, and cooking pizza rolls in the kitchen. Ever since Karee and Trevor shared the news of their engagement, the boys have been eagerly waiting in anticipation -- asking on a weekly basis "Is the wedding TODAY??" So this July we're celebrating the long and crazy journey that led to the union of two best friends in love, two lovers of games and laughter, two literal experts in communication -- Two Jordans -- MS, CCC-SLP.
