We were so young. But somehow Trevor knew he wanted to keep me in his pocket for the rest of his life 😍 On our 1 year anniversay on August 11, 2012, Trevor and I decided to hike up Angel Rocks to complete our first year together. It was hot, I was thirsty, and tired. I complained the whole way up! He pulled me by my hand, he carried me on his back, and even pushed me from behind by my butt 🤷‍♀️ I thought “seriously? You’re way too happy for me right now.” He knew that once he FINALLY got me to the top, it was his big moment. That evening we reached the top of Angel Rocks. We sat in the cave, ate our peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and pringles. Then his time came. We climbed up above the cave and stood looking all around at the mountains and trees and the most adorable little cabin in the distance. He said “turn around and dont peek I mean it!” I was so nervous and NOT in a good way. The only things I knew about in that bag was one BIG ass knife and water bottles! I kid you not, I thought Trevor was going to murder me. Not only was I standing on the very edge of a rock with nothing but trees several hundreds of feet below but I was also facing away from Trevor who has this dear gutting knife!!... Or so I thought... I was trembling in fear. Close to tears. “Hannahhhhh...” he said sofly right behind me on the EDGE OF A CLIFF. I slowly turned around covering half my face, blushing, shaking and not ready to die. He was already on one knee... Holding a small silver box in both hands and wearing the most beautiful, crazy huge smile on his big dumb face, he says “will you marry me?” And opens the box... I was in total and complete SHOCK!! “Um YES” I cried as a leaped happily away from the edge and into his strong arms. I was crying tears of joy AND tears of relief... It was the greatest day of my entire life for two reasons. One: Trevor Aaron Dozier, the love of my life, wanted ME Hannah Lynnette Russell to be his wife. Like whaaaaaa? Crazy. And Two: I was going to live. ❤️
