Our paths first crossed in high school, but we never talked to each other and didn't really know each other during those years. Fast forward a few years and we find ourselves randomly intermingled in each other's friend groups. After an unexpected connection, we thought "why not" and ended up on our first date in Ice House Canyon. After that, our lives have continued to fall together and into place. The rest has been an incredible adventure of love, laughter, and surprises.
I wanted to include the many important places and people that mean the most to us during the proposal so I decided to send Grace on the road trip of a lifetime. We traveled up to Flagstaff for a "routine" visit with our friends Robbie and Tori, but little did she know what was actually planned for her that weekend. I woke up at six a.m. and immediately drove back to California. Grace was woken up a bit later and read a letter I left her in our journal that we share. At this point she knew what was coming. She read another letter from Robbie and Tori before getting dressed, packing up, and heading out with her friends. The first stop was Macy's, her favorite coffee shop in Flag, to start the day off right. Next was her house down in Phoenix where they would enjoy some breakfast with her friend and roommate Tara who have Grace another letter. Now it was time to take the five hour trek to Ontario Christian High School, where her best friend, Alex, and my close friends stood, each of them with a letter of stories they've shared and best wishes. Meanwhile, I have made it to California and have started setting up at the proposal spot with some help from my brother and some friends. Grace was then escorted up to Ice House Canyon where our families stood and watched as she read each of their letters. After she finished, Grace walked the trail into the canyon and found an opening with a TV resting on a table. She watched a video of all of our memories we have shared over the past three years. At the end of the video, it said, "Here's to forever. Turn around." When she did, she found me waiting for her. After an exchanging of words and a lot of excitement I got down on one knee and she said yes!
Traveling the world has always been something we've wanted for our life together. On May 28th, 2019, Trevor and I will be leaving for Greece to get married and find adventure for three weeks. We'll be roaming around the southern Greek islands after tying the knot in Crete. We decided to start our life together with an unforgettable journey that sets the stage for what else is to come. We look forward to celebrating with all our friends and family on June 29th with a backyard party after we return.
