Question

Entry Requirements

Answer

UPDATED 5/31/22 According to the statement of the Minister, starting from June 1, all travellers, regardless of their country of origin, will no longer be required to hold a valid vaccination, recovery, or test certificate when reaching Italy. Please check back after June 1st to see the latest Covid-19 Restrictions, If any.

Question

WHAT IF I AM NOT VACCINATED?

Answer

If you are not vaccinated we respectfully ask that you please refrain from traveling to Italy. Although we would love for you to attend, the safety of our daughter, family, and friends is the upmost importance to us and remains our first priority. * We recommend ALL of our guests receive a booster before their travels. We would appreciate anyone who plans on traveling to test yourself 24 hours prior to your flight even if there is no mandate to do so.

Question

What should I pack?

Answer

Foremost, it is important to be prepared for a long flight. You'll need clothing appropriate for the activities you'll be participating in. All activities can be found under the "Schedule" page. At this time, the wedding will be held be indoors. Please note that due to the Villa's nature, there may be cobblestone or uneven surfaces outdoors therefore you may want to bring suitable shoes. We are planning to have activities, but please feel free to bring any games or shared fun options that you'd like! There is a football field, pool, and tennis court available for our private usage. Each guest will receive 3 bath towels and 1 pool towel. We do ask that you bring your own travel sized toiletries and necessities. Hand soap will be available. We will be in the countryside, so don't forget to pack bug spray. You will want to bring a converter for all your electronic devices as outlets are different in Europe. The average temperature in the Tuscan region during this time is 70 degrees during the day and 50 degrees at night.

Question

What should I wear during my stay?

Answer

During this trip, please be mindful of the culture. There are a few things you should know about dressing in Italy. There is no formal dress code, but fashion is important to the Italians. We want our guest to be as comfortable as possible, but please leave the athletic wear at home.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We kindly ask that you do not bring a plus one unless it has been approved. We have carefully chosen to have an intimate ceremony with only family present. With that being said, we have also chosen an intimate chapel that can only hold a very small number of wedding attendees. We are already at maximum capacity. We hope you understand and appreciate the value of experiencing these unforgettable moments with close family whom we love so dearly.

Question

Can I take pictures or post photos of your wedding on social media?

Answer

We ask for no cell phones or photography during the ceremony as it’s our special moment. We will have a professional photographer for our big day. During the rest of your stay if you decide to post on social media, you can use the hashtag #tyingthegarlicknot

Question

Are you registered, If so, where?

Answer

Your presence is our greatest gift, but in the event you wish to gift us anything more please use Zola which will allow you to contribute funds towards our first home.

Question

Is there a hotel room block?

Answer

We have opted not to have a hotel room block. We want our guests to curate an experience that works best for them, and not feel obligated to spend money on a hotel if they'd rather stay in an Airbnb. There are many hotels, Airbnbs, and bed and breakfast options in San Giuliano Terme so you can choose an accommodation at a price point that works for you. We have a list of suggestions on the "Travel" page of our website. Our personal recommendation is Bagni Di Pisa.

Question

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

We’d love to know if you can make it as soon as possible. Please RSVP by JULY 1ST. You can find more information and instructions under the tab labeled "RSVP". Please remember to RSVP to each activity you would like to participate in throughout the week.

Question

What do I need to know about my Passport?

Answer

You will need your passport upon entering Italy or other countries you may come across on your journey. New regulations dictate that passports should have at least six months of validity when traveling internationally. Most countries will not permit a traveler to enter their country unless the passport is set to expire at least six months after the final day of travel. Please ensure your passport is valid.

Question

What can I expect while dining in Italy?

Answer

In Italy and Europe in general, most people tend to move a little more slowly than we may be accustomed to. Italians love to enjoy their food among the company of friends and family, so sit back, relax, and soak in all the joyous moments Italy has to offer! Keep in mind in Italy dinner is served at a later hour than you may be used to.

Question

Renting a car?

Answer

San Giuliano Terme and Pisa are both walkable cities that do not require a car. If you would like to travel beyond that, renting a car may be a possible option for transportation. If you plan to rent a car in Italy, it's advised to obtain an international driving permit from AAA for $20 at https://www.aaa.com/vacation/idpf.html Italian car rental agencies will rent a car to you without an international driver's license, but if you get pulled over, you may get a ticket for not having one. Question

What if i do not speak the language?

Answer

Have no fear! During our stay, we will be graciously hosted by Fabio, the owner of Villa Ravano. Fabio is our guide to the city and can help you with any questions or concerns you may have while you are visiting! He can even help you book a dinner reservation if needed. You also will be able to find many who can speak basic English anywhere you go in Italy. We recommend downloading the Google Translate app on your phone, and pre-downloading the entire Italian language. This is the most accurate translator, and you can even learn pronunciation on the go and translate pictures of signs and menus. If you can master just a few words, a little goes a long way! You may also want to download WhatsApp for another form of communication.

Question

How will cell phone service work?

Answer

Although it depends on your carrier, we recommend that you contact your cell phone provider beforehand on what your best options may be. We find it useful for at least one person in your party to have international data plan available and turned on for getting around the city (Ex. maps and directions). However, most hotels and restaurants will have Wifi readily available to connect.

Question

What is the currency in Italy?

Answer

The official currency in Italy is the Euro. The average currency exchange rate of USD to Euro is about 1$ to 0.86€ although this will fluctuate. You will get the best currency exchange rates at ATM's in Italy. Check with your bank ahead of time in regards to foreign transaction fees. You can also use a credit card that has no foreign transaction fees. Remember to notify your banks and credit card company that you will be traveling so your transactions will not be declined. It is recommended to exchange for Euros in America before Traveling. It is not considered wise to use currency exchange at airports due to higher fees.
