744 Miles away from home with snow and a new environment, with no friends or family insight. Lucky for me my mother had a friend who visited Kansas City before and came with one of the best recommendations I’ve ever taken in my life. Power Light District. Despite it sounding like a place that will electrocute any human being near it, I followed up with the advice and checked it out. After jumping from venue to venue I finally settled in at one particular place, I can’t think of the name of it but I could point it out in a heartbeat. The night was young and so was this PYT with the pink dress on. I mustered up the courage to stop her before entering the palace of heathens and saved her from wasting her time. The rest is history, she became my queen.
It was a cold graduation night in December of 2014. It was only right that we go celebrate the graduates properly at Power and Light. I had been through a lot that year and I really wasn’t feeling the whole club scene, but AJ dragged me out as usual lol. We stepped out on the balcony to get some fresh air and we stood out there and talked for a while. We were lookin’ delectable of course, so the thirst was real! We decided to go back into the club after a while. At that very moment a fine young tenderoni approached me, touched my arm and introduced himself. We proceeded to have a looonnnngggg conversation outside of the establishment. So long that AJ came up and said, “Hurry up and get his number already.” The night ended early after AJ, Reggie, Mike and I got kicked out of the club. LMAO!! After that night I kept in touch with the young gentleman and pretty soon we became inseparable! Moral of the story is, be ready to receive your blessings at all times. You never know, your blessing may be around the corner, or at the club!
