We met working as lifeguards at Water World. Although we had heard each other's names before, we never really talked to each other until one day Trevor ran up to me and poked me in the side thinking I was someone else. He thought it would be awkward to leave, so he sat beside me at the end of the work day and we started talking. We also later found out that we grew up less than a mile away from each other and went to the same elementary school.

Trevor was on leave before heading to his permanent duty station. He had been planning this for a while and I didn't make it easy on him. He had a week to pick out the ring and find the time to propose. I was in classes all week long and when I wasn't I never left his side, making it difficult for him to keep secrets. In between a couple of my classes, Trevor grabs me and we go for a drive up Boulder Canyon. I tell him I have to go back to class soon, so he thought on his feet and found a beautiful area by the creek. We stand there looking at the creek and he says I have a question for you and gets down on one knee. Of course I said yes!
