Question

What is the dress code for the resort?

Answer

Breakfast and lunch is pretty casual but expect to be asked to put on a cover up or shirt if in a swimsuit. For dinner, guests are asked for 'casual elegance.' For ladies: Dresses, skirts, long pants, capri pants, dress sandals For men: Long pants, collared shirts and casual shoes Permitted: Formal/dress Bermudas Not permitted: Baseball caps, tank tops, tee shirts, flip-flops, gym shorts. This is not always enforced - use your best judgment and look nice for dinner.

What are some items I should bring?

Answer

Insulated tumblers! The sun is HOT and strong. Ice melts fast. The bartenders will fill your tumbler, any size! Pool floaties! Our concierge will arrange to have them blown up. Many guests also leave floaties behind so no need to panic if you don't have room to pack one. Sunscreen! Bug spray - depending on the weather the mosquitos can be bad - you may want to stash some bug spray. Note: there are a couple of convenience shops at the resort that will have many of these items although at a premium price. Sometimes the concierge can be talked into getting items off the resort (tip would be appropriate).

Do I need to tip?

Answer

Tipping isn't required however the service is so amazing you will probably want to! Pesos are obviously accepted but USDs seem to be preferred. Tipping bartenders will get you faster drinks!

Speaking of drinks, how are they?

Answer

They are amazing! One thing to be aware of is they use sugar substitute that can leave a weird aftertaste if you are sensitive. You can always request fresh fruit and there is an amazing health bar.

Are the drinks strong?

Answer

Depends on who you are asking! You can always request a certain liquor or an extra shot (or three)

What about the water?

Answer

All of the water on the resort is filtered. All of it. There is also bottled water in your room. You CAN use the tap water to brush your teeth. When you run out of bottled water, you can request more.

What if I still get sick?

Answer

There is a doctor on site but will probably not accept your US based medical insurance.

Can I snorkel? Does the resort provide snorkels?

Answer

Weather and ocean permitting, there is some good snorkeling right off the beach HOWEVER, since Covid, the resort has not been providing snorkels to guests. If you wish to snorkel, bring your own snorkel and mask.

Is there Wi-Fi?

Answer

Yes, the entire resort has very good coverage. check with your carrier about cell usage while not covered by Wi-Fi. Most of the concierge staff use WhatsApp to communicate with guests.

What about transportation to the resort? How do I find it at the airport?

Answer

The time share people in the airport are RELENTLESS. Once you get through customs, DO NOT talk to anyone until you get outside! All transportation will be outside. They will try to trick you inside and tell you they are your transport, don't fall for it!!! Go outside, head straight for the bar and get an overpriced margarita.. Or skip the margarita and look for your transport.

Is there an App for the resort?

Answer

Of course there is! GA Dorado Royale - available for both Android snd iPhone operating systems. Many features available now but more features will be unlocked once you check in.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive by 4:45 - ceremony starts at 5pm! We would like all of our guests to participate in a ring warming before the ceremony.

What about masks... app says they're required?

Answer

As far as we know, some restaurants ASK you to wear a mask. It doesn't seem to be enforced so do as you feel comfortable. I recommend having a mask on hand just in case. I also ask that if you are asked to put on a mask, please comply with hotel/airport/transportstion/etc staff.
