We met at homecoming of 2011 my friends had given me a pep talk about talking to guys, I laughed at their comment thinking "there is no way I'm doing that". Then I saw him standing in the corner of the gym looking just as uncomfortable as I was, so I thought it couldn't hurt. I walked up to him with all the confidence I was going to have that year and asked him to dance, and you guessed it he said...No. He didn't even look at me just a straight no, so I said fine and walked away still shocked guess I was expecting a cheesy ending. Few days later I got on my bus getting ready to go home, I was already in a bad mood cause...school and as I looked for a seat I noticed him, the dude from homecoming that shot me down, I decided whether he liked it or not I was sitting with him.
Weeks went by and we became best friends, even though we had cell phones the main way we talked was by writing each other letters, passing them in the halls on the way to class. Going on walks almost every day talking about our futures and our wants. As more time went by we decided to give this dating thing a try, but to no surprise being as young as we were it didn't quite work out so we decided to just stay friends. Over the years we'd gotten closer and connected on a deeper level then in high school, fell in love with a different version of ourselves. In the summer of 2017 we started looking at our relationship again and decided to give dating another shot, and it honestly was the best decision we could’ve made.
A few days before Christmas Trenton told me we were going for a walk, In my head I was thinking "why on earth would we go for a walk in -10 degree weather, but I didn't question him too much and went along with it . He took me down the trail we used to take almost every day when we were in school (also the place we had our first kiss) and asked me to be his wife. I remember feeling shocked and happy also like I was going to pass out and I probably would have if it wasn't so cold, and of course as you guessed it I said yes.
