About a week after we bonded over our mutual love of Crown Royal and deep conversations, Trent told me I’d fall in love with him. Of course I got angry and swore it would never happen, but here we are so I guess I’ll let him win that one. We met while working together at Outback Steakhouse in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was my boss at the time, which was fairly taboo, so we kept everything a secret until we finally realized that it was something real. At last I admitted that I was in love with him. It wasn't really news to him since he'd been saying it the whole time, but when we came to a mutual understanding of the facts, we decided to move in together, and then moved to Kansas City when I accepted a job as an electrical engineer at Burns and McDonnell. When Trent found out he was deploying with his National Guard unit, he decided to speed up his plans. He proposed to me on June 13th, just a few days before he was supposed to leave. After a few weeks of separation, Trent got sent home for medical reasons for a month before he could rejoin his unit. We decided we couldn’t wait another year and got married in our dining room on July 19th, 2018, with just a few people, no ceremony and another bottle of crown. Trent is finally back home and we are so excited to celebrate our vows with all of you!
