FAQs

Question

Where is the wedding taking place?

Answer

Our ceremony will take place on the island of Oʻahu, with dinner and celebrations at Aulani Resort. The full weekend schedule is available on our Wedding Weekend page.

Question

Do I need to stay at Aulani?

Answer

No. While we’re staying at Aulani, there are several wonderful nearby hotels we recommend. These are listed under “Other Hotel Options” on the Travel page. Stay wherever feels most comfortable for you — you’ll still be close to all weekend events.

Question

What is the best way to get around the island?

Answer

Most guests find that renting a car is the easiest and most flexible way to explore Oʻahu. Rideshares (Uber/Lyft) are available but limited in some areas, and wait times can vary. Shuttle services and taxis are also available from the airport. Your travel style will guide what works best for you.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Our dress code is coastal elegant: think flowy dresses, soft linens, button-ups, comfortable footwear, and colors inspired by our palette. No suits required — and no jeans, please. Hawaii heat calls for breathable fabrics and shoes that won’t sink into the grass.

Question

Is there a wedding party?

Answer

We aren’t having a traditional wedding party — instead, everyone invited is our wedding party. You are our closest people, our chosen family. In the spirit of Hawaiʻi, ʻohana means family, and we’re grateful to celebrate with those who have shaped our lives.

Question

Are the welcome party and send-off brunch required?

Answer

Not at all. They are completely optional and meant to give everyone a chance to relax, connect, and enjoy the island. Come to whatever feels good for you.

Question

Do I need to pay for the events?

Answer

The ceremony and dinner reception are fully hosted. The welcome luau and send-off brunch are optional, and guests purchase their own tickets/food. This keeps things flexible and lets people choose what works best for their schedule.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend arriving on Oʻahu at least one day before the ceremony to give yourself cushion for flight delays, jet lag, and travel time from the airport.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Warm and tropical. Expect highs in the 80s, light breezes, and plenty of sun. Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and something light for evenings by the ocean.

Question

Can I give a toast or speech?

Answer

If you’d like to say something, feel free to share it during dinner. We want this night to feel intimate and heartfelt — no pressure, just connection.

Question

What gifts should we bring?

Answer

Your presence is our gift. Truly. If you wish to give something, we’ll include a small registry on the site, but there is absolutely no expectation.
