We first met in August of 2009 at Syracuse University during band camp. Trenton was a snare drummer and Ashley was the Orange Girl, or feature baton twirler. During a lunch break, Trenton asked Ashley to join a game of volleyball and not wanting to embarrass herself, Ashley politely declined and explained that she isn't coordinated. Trenton replied "you're the Orange Girl...you can juggle 3 batons in the air at once". That game of volleyball never happened, but we officially started dating in January of 2010!

In May of 2019, we took a trip to visit Spain and Portugal together. After spending time in Barcelona and Lisbon, we made our way to the town of Sintra, Portugal to explore the royal palaces and castles there. After wandering the grounds and gardens of Monserrate, Trenton asked a stranger to take our photo in front of the palace. While that seemed out of character for Trenton, Ashley didn't think much of it until he got down on one knee. Finally after over 9 years of dating, Trenton asked and Ashley said yes!
