We're getting Married!

Trenton and Rachel met in January 2020, when Trenton asked to be Rachel’s lab partner. This was followed by countless evenings where they would meet to work on homework and complete their lab reports. As we all know, 2020 was a very different year where everything came to a halt. Trenton and Rachel did not fall away from each other. Instead they became closer and grew to enjoy each other’s company with each passing day.

Trenton proposed to Rachel on their first backpacking trip through Manistee National Forest on 15 April 2022. They hiked 13 miles on the first day and pitched camp by the river. After eating a warm supper and trying to keep warm by the fire Trenton starts asking Rachel questions. Trenton says: “You know what would make this day better?” Rachel, being practical, replies: “Ohh you know, maybe 10 degrees warmer and a little less wind.” Then she turns to Trenton as he pulls out a ring and she sees that he is on one knee.
