Nick and Tee met online and remained social media friends for a few years before they began dating. In 2016, Nick posted a selfie photo of himself standing in front of banner of himself at Rice University. Tee teased Nick by initiating a conversation with "I didn't know you were a model now?" The punchline was so solid that Nick knew he had to take Tee on date. After a great dinner and watching the Hodor episode on Game of Thrones, they both realized how much common interest they had. During that time Tee was a flight attendant and the two shared a passion for traveling. After a handful of travel destinations, Nick inspired Tee to go back to school. She began working part time while obtaining her pre-requisites for dental hygiene school. Right around the time Nick was going to graduate, Tee got accepted into the first school of her choice. Nick finished his doctorate degree from Rice University and moved to Seattle, WA. Tee remained in Houston, TX to finished her undergraduate degree at University of Texas School of Dentistry. They went through two years of long distance with many flights between Houston and Seattle. Tee finally graduated and moved to Seattle. They recently took a huge step and adopted a 4 year-old border collie and red heeler mixed named Nini. She has been the joy of their lives.

Nick drove Tee to a dinner reservation and when the two of them arrived he realized he made a mistake with the time. He said they came a bit too early and suggested for Tee to walk over to the nearby park. Tee was excited because there had been these beautiful street lights (she has a weird fascination for them). As they reached the peak of the bridge he stopped, pulled out a box and got down on one knee. Tee was so shocked that he had to ask her “will you marry me?” twice. It clicked and everything finally made sense. The snazzy suit, the photographer who she thought was just taking pictures of the sunset, the odd restaurant that was “apparently” inside the park, the weird reservation time. It was also the first time in a long time since Tee saw him nervous around her. She said “of course I will!” and now he’s #marryingTEEintheNICKofTIME (see engagement pictures under Photo)

We know that our wedding will be a destination wedding for many friends and family. We wanted to talk about the reason why we chose Newport Beach, California. After our engagement, we knew we had to choose a location somewhere in SoCal due to the fact that Nick's grandparents are 94 & 97 years old and can no longer travel. Family is very important to us and it is important that we include them in on our big special day. Newport Beach is also where Nick was born and the connection just felt right to us.
