Trent and Megan knew early on that they wanted to marry each other. Trent and Megan went to Aubrey, TX on their second date back in February. On that date, Megan and Trent walked around downtown Aubrey and found a stage in the middle of a park. On that stage Trent was goofy as always and sang for Megan in his famous "Jean Valjean" voice and Megan sang "Halo" by Beyoncé. As silly as this date was, it was a milestone for the two that they were free to be themselves around one another, and that both Megan and Trent loved the way God uniquely made the other person. Trent knew that he wanted to propose to Megan on that stage in Aubrey, a place to this day that is special to them. So Trent set up lights in the middle of the night the day before the proposal with the help of his brother Josh and Roy. Luckily, the stage was surrounded with Christmas lights, which if anyone knows Megan, they know how much she loves Christmas. Trent proposed to Megan on Friday, November 30th, 2018. On that Friday Trent had told Megan that he wanted to take her to dinner at one of their favorite restaurants in McKinney. Instead, Trent drove Megan to Aubrey to go see the "Christmas tree lighting". When they arrived, there was no Christmas tree yet, so Trent casually played it off and suggested that they go to dinner. Trent knowing Megan would want to go back to that stage lit up with lights, followed along with "Megan's idea" to go up on the stage. There on that stage Trent asked Megan to be his wife and to spend the rest of their lives together. After the engagement, Trent had one last surprise for Megan. He organized a surprise party with the help of Emily, Roy, and Jeremy and Kelley Irwin. Not only was there a party, but Trent got Megan's mom to fly in from Ohio to surprise her! It was a special night filled with so much joy and celebration. That night they felt so loved and supported by everyone.
