The Proposal
Last Winter, I had the biggest surprise of all planned for my longtime girlfriend. We had already decorated our house with tons of Christmas lights, but this year there was one extra special display. As I nervously suggested a walk around the lake across the street, our friends and family were secretly busy setting up the centerpiece: a giant glowing “Marry Me” sign in our yard.
As we strolled around the lake, my heart raced—I was excited, nervous, and trying not to give away the surprise. By the time we circled back, the lights were shining bright, the sign lit up the night, and everyone we loved was waiting to share the moment.
Right there in front of the sparkling lights, I dropped to one knee and asked her to marry me. In that magical glow, surrounded by family, friends, and Christmas cheer, she said yes—and it was the perfect start to our forever.
