My senior year of high school was one to remember. I had just turned 18 in November and knew that I just HAD to find the cutest and most romantic guy to take to prom. Luckily, I ran across Trent after helping out with a fundraiser for the non-profit tutoring facility I worked for at the time. I knew in that moment that he was not only cute, but someone I'd never be able to forget. Fast-forward to November 2015, Trent & I had decided that we basically were tired of avoiding the fact that we were both crazy over each other and began to talk on a more serious level. April 2, 2016 he FINALLY got the nerve enough to make things official and the rest is history.
After many awaited weeks, we were finally taking our summer beach trip. We arrived in Morehead City in hopes to see the wild horses in Beaufort the next morning. Sadly after looking at th weather a big rain storm was headed our direction. When Trent found this out he became so hysterical that I thought the boy had lost his mind. I brushed the episode off on him being tired and continued on with our trip. Several days passed with no inclination at all that I was about to get the surprise of a lifetime. We had headed the Charleston for a sunset cruise on the Schooner Pride. Now, I was excited for this sunset cruise, but not as excited as Trent. He acted as if he had ants in his pants the entire day! We cruised along the harbor and watched the sunset through the steeple of one of the oldest churches in Charleston. Right as the sun was setting on the horizon everyone got quiet to look at the beautiful scenery. I leaned over to whisper to Trent (who knows what I was going to say) when he said "I need to ask you something." He pulled out the ring that had been hiding in his pocket and got down on one knee! I was so shocked and speechless that my only reaction was to hug him!
