How We Met

4.08.20

Dating in 2020 was tough enough, but add a global pandemic into the mix, and all bets are off! Every restaurant in San Antonio had moved to a to-go style experience and did not allow for any dine in options, so we had to get creative. Our first date was in the parking lot of Torchy's Tacos on the back of Trent's tailgate. He brought out the big Yeti cooler, so it was classy for sure! We sat outside sharing stories and laughs for hours. Little did we know, this was the start of our forever. We were inseparable! We made the most of the world shutting down and had created some great memories and were able to build such a strong foundation to our future together. We had each other!

The Proposal

8.12.23

It was a Saturday like any other. We started off our day slowly, just trying to figure out what we were going to get into. Trent had been in process of building his koi pond and had been wanting to visit the Japanese Tea Gardens in town. So we loaded on up and headed out for the day. When we arrive I am amazed by this hidden gem that I had no clue existed in San Antonio! We got to walk around, enjoy the view and then got to "window shop" the koi we saw there and what would look good in his pond. Just as we are about to leave a proposal happens in the middle of the gardens and prevents anyone from entering or exiting without getting in the way. So we have to sit and wait it out. It was 106 degrees in a valley that had no breeze flowing at all. I turned to Trent and told him "I hope you don't propose in a public setting like this, look at all of these people watching right now!" Irritable from the heat of the day and slightly hangry, I had no clue 6 hours later Trent would be asking me to be his forever. We get ready for the night and for once, Trent is not waiting on me to get ready. We finally make our way out and to Signature for supper. As we are parking, I thought I saw my mom's car. As I turn to get a better look, Trent whips his car in the opposite direction sending me flying in my seat. I brush it off and we head inside. As we are following the hostess to our table, it does not dawn on me what is about to happen as there are 4 different phone cameras locked in on us from both of our parents who are already seated. I go around and give my hellos before trying to take my seat and I am stopped by Trent. Almost instantly I start crying. It's actually happening!!! I hear nothing Trent says, but the moment he stopped talking my mind knew to tell my body to react. Before I knew it I shouted, "YES!" The easiest "Yes!" of my life. A "Yes!" that will soon be outshined by the "I Do's!" that we will share in front of all of you.
