Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We ask that our guests wear cocktail or semi-formal attire. Men: You can wear a suit and tie or dress shirt and slacks/khakis Women: You can wear a maxi or knee-length cocktail dress or dressy separates. Please keep in mind that this is late fall/early winter in the Midwest, so temps can range anywhere from the 30s to the 70s, and the ceremony will potentially be outside (pending weather).

Will the events take place indoors or outdoors?

Answer

As long as the weather cooperates, we plan to have the ceremony outdoors in the Urb Garden, but it will be moved indoors if needed. The cocktail hour & reception will be indoors immediately following the ceremony.

What is the wedding day timeline?

Answer

We can share general time frames while we are still finalizing the timings/schedule. We will start with a short & sweet ceremony at either 4 or 4:30, then immediately move inside for the cocktail hour following the ceremony. The cocktail hour will last about an hour, and then we will transition into the dinner/reception. Traveling to multiple locations is unnecessary as all events will happen on-site at Mercantile Hall.

Is there parking available at the venue?

Answer

There is a parking lot located just behind the venue. Otherwise, ample street parking or public parking lot options are available for free.

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

We are looking into transportation options to ensure our guests have a great time and can get back safely! We will update the "Travel" page with more info once it is finalized.

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

While we love your kids, due to space and budget, this will be adults only (18+), except our niece & nephews, who are part of the wedding party. We hope you can still attend, but we understand if this prevents you from coming.

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Unfortunately, we won't be able to accommodate any plus ones not identified on your invitation/RSVP card. We have carefully curated our guest list and ensured everyone has family and/or friends they know.

What type of food will be served?

Answer

Passed hors d'oeuvres will be served during cocktail hour, followed by a buffet with Chicken, Beef, or Vegetarian options. There will also be a dessert table and coffee station for after dinner.

If I have dietary restrictions/allergies, how can I let you know?

Answer

The health and safety of our friends & family is very important to us, so we will include a space on the RSVP where you can detail any restrictions or allergies so that we can relay this to our catering team.

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

We will be hosting an open bar for beer, wine & our 2 signature drinks for the entirety of the cocktail hour and reception. It will be a cash bar for any other drink options. Note: If needed, an ATM at the bank drive-thru is right next to the venue.

Can I take pictures during the ceremony to post on social media?

Answer

Given that we have hired professional photographers & videographers for the day, we will have an unplugged ceremony and ask that all cell phones be silenced and put away or turned off. This is to help ensure they can get clear shots without phones or cameras blocking their view. We would love for you to take all the pictures and videos you want throughout the rest of the night and share them via the QR Code/Hashtag we will provide.

Can I RSVP online or do I have to mail in an RSVP card?

Answer

We invite you to RSVP online through this website or by mailing in the RSVP card sent with your invitation; we will be tracking both.
