They almost didn't meet. No really, they were almost never a thing. Trent worked with a friend of Franquie's and she had been trying to introduce them for weeks. Franquie was entering her "If he wants to talk, he can reach out first" phase in life, and Trent was not having it. It took the friend a bit of liquid courage in Fountain Square one afternoon, to text Trent that "he was an idiot" (and some other colorful language) if he didn't text Franquie. 10 minutes later, he did. Trent and Franquie actually saw each other for the first time at Franquie's second home (no, not Target), The Yoga Studio. Trent and Franquie planned on him coming to her class and then grabbing a drink after. Little did they know that 1. the mutual friend would not show and 2. how unprepared they were for the heat in the studio that day. They called off the drinks and planned to meet later that week. Cue Louie's Wine and Dive (RIP). They met and the conversation flowed, it was natural and they had an immediate spark. Now if you ask Franquie, they continued to "meet for drinks" and if you ask Trent, they were "dating". No one really knows when they officially began to date. But when it did happen, it was the absolute right time! Not long after they began dating, they moved in to the Quarry. Then came Mimi, their pride and joy. Now, Mimi runs the Toothman household...and everyone knows it (her included). When Trent decided he was going to propose to Franquie, he spent about 3 hours trying to train Mimi to bring the ring to Franquie. Eventually Trent ran out of treats and Mimi ran out of encouragement. Trent proposed on February 27, 2020, in their apartment...just the two of them and Mimi. It was perfect! We can't wait to celebrate our love with you all!
