Trent and Ashley met on a student film while they were both getting their degrees at SCAD. Trent, one of the actors and Ashley the designer. Ashley ran around the set like a chicken without a head, occasionally having conversations with Trent. After the film was completed, Trent asked Ashley out on a date. After seeing a Wes Anderson movie and taking a long walk on the beach, they knew that this was the start of something wonderful.

Trent's birthday in 2018 coincidentally landed on the same weekend we planned my Memere's (grandmother's) 90th birthday bash. The day after a family party at my parents house, I brought out a birthday cake for my family to sing Happy Birthday to Trent with. After a few minutes of struggling to keep the candles lit with the nice breeze happening that day, we all sang him a loud happy birthday. While I was taking the candles off and preparing to cut the cake, Trent announced: "My only birthday wish is for Ashley to marry me." I looked over and he was down on one knee holding his grandmothers ring. I was absolutely surprised and over the moon happy! Naturally, I was speechless so I quickly kissed him and said YES! We're so happy to have you all join us on the beginning of the next chapter of our lives, our greatest adventure!
