Best Men
Trent sits smack dab in the middle of his brothers, Nathan and Mitch. Nobody knows him better or has put up with his middle child antics for longer. Through childhood, high school, Colorado State University and even the same fraternity, Trent was lucky enough to overlap with both of them; getting to serve as both an older and younger brother.
Maid of Honor
Aly’s cousin and fellow Spanish language enthusiast, Julia has been part of her life since the beginning. Although they grew up together and overlapped for a year at Virginia Tech, their bond deepened when Aly visited Julia in Lafayette, Colorado - coincidentally, the very town where Trent grew up. Now in Denver, Julia has been a mainstay at many Koch Holiday celebrations.
Groomsman
Trent’s oldest friend, they’ve somehow managed to stay in touch from their diapers to their thirties. The third brother Trent never knew he wanted.
Bridesmaid
Aly’s oldest friend: They met in kindergarten in Heidelberg, Germany. Despite years of moves and distance, they’ve always made time to see each other. These days, Michaela also holds the very important title of Aly’s favorite hairstylist.
Groomsman
Cameron and Trent met in Ms. Collin’s language arts class freshman year of high school, where Trent forced Cameron into being his friend. Despite frequent moves and living as far away as you possibly could from each other (San Diego to Maine), they maintained a strong friendship, always picking up where they left off.
Bridesmaid
Veronika and Aly first met in middle school in Centreville, Virginia, when Veronika had just moved to the U.S. from Ukraine. Years later, they reconnected in San Francisco when they both ended up living in California, and Veronika took Aly to her very first NFL game. Now a proud Rams fan, Aly and Veronika make the most of living in Southern California and see each other often.
Groomsman
Sawkins and Trent were randomly selected freshman year roommates at CSU, and have been inseparable since. When Trent jokingly asked if he wanted to move to San Diego with him after graduation, he was surprised when Sawkins said “why not?” And packed his bags. While no longer roommates, Nathan still comes over often enough to hardly notice.
Bridesmaid
Johanna (aka Yoyo) was Aly’s very first friend in Stuttgart, Germany. They bonded instantly over playing the same three sports (volleyball, basketball, and soccer) and have stayed close ever since. Even through different schools, cities, and states, they’ve always made time to visit, talk on the phone, and keep their friendship strong.
Groomsman
Bradford and Trent met freshman year when they both rushed Theta Chi in the same pledge class. They quickly bonded over their shared love of music and dumb bits. Frequent companions on sloppy nights out on the town, Bradford is your man if you want the dirt on Trent.
Bridesmaid
Sarah and Aly were both new kids the same year and became fast friends after meeting in Spanish class. Aly knew they’d be BFFs after Sarah joined her family on a trip to Croatia, where they snorkeled, explored, and proudly documented their before-and-after tans. Sarah was one of the few friends to visit Aly during her exchange program in Ecuador. Later, they became neighbors again when Sarah moved to San Francisco, and even continued the roadtrip tradition (this time, with Sarah’s pet pig, Oliver) visiting various California national parks and Lake Tahoe.
Groomsman
Although a year older, Phoenix rushed Theta Chi at the same time as Trent and Bradford. While not very close at first, their friendship strengthened when they served as President and Vice President of Theta Chi a year later. Nowadays, Phoenix and his wife Leighanne’s house is a must-visit destination when Aly and Trent come back to visit Colorado.
Bridesmaid
Filsan and Aly were high school best friends, bonding over shopping on Königstraße, endless meals at Vapiano’s, and their first taste of nightlife together (at age 16, got to love Germany!). With Filsan in North Carolina for college and Aly in Virginia, they made sure to stay close and visit often. Now with Filsan in Chicago, Aly somehow sees her there more than some of her friends in San Diego.
Groomsman
“Nicky Pots n Pans” was Bradford’s freshman year roommate, but didn’t really get close with Trent until sophomore year. After finally caving and joining his friends in Theta Chi, he became Trent’s “little” (despite being older than him). A fellow music lover, Nick and Trent saw countless concerts during their time at CSU.
Bridesmaid
Jen and Aly only overlapped for one year in high school, but made the most of it through volleyball, plenty of partying & Oktoberfest nights, pool days, and late-night deep conversations. They stayed connected through college visits and even had the unexpected coincidence of their parents moving into the same apartment building in Arlington, VA. These days, Aly’s frequent trips to Chicago mean Jen is never too far away.
Groomsman
One of Trent’s first friends in San Diego, Kolton and Trent bonded over their many mutual interests: sports, music, being loud, and being the smartest person in the room (so they think). Whether it’s playing volleyball, going to concerts, shit talking during Rams/49ers games, or traveling the world together, there’s never a dull moment with Trent and Kolton.
Bridesmaid
Aly and Carissa were freshman roommates - one of those rare, perfect random roommate matches. They quickly bonded over a shared experience of having spent most of their lives outside the U.S., despite both being American. After freshman year, Aly visited Carissa in Singapore, and that trip set the tone for everything that followed. Since then, they’ve continued to show up for each other across the map: Thailand, Malaysia, NYC, Washington DC, and San Francisco. Even with thousands of miles between them, nothing ever feels distant.
Groomsman
James is Aly’s brother, and was nice enough to accept Trent as a future brother of his own. They bonded over game nights and random trivia facts, and as a pilot-in-training, James has helped Trent conquer his fear of heights by flying him in a small plane over Colorado.
Bridesmaid
Aly’s OG scuba buddy & member of the “3 Gringuitas:” Amy and Aly both went to Virginia Tech but truly started their friendship in Ecuador during their 5 month exchange program. Every weekend was a trip somewhere new exploring every part of such a beautiful, small country. They stayed close throughout senior year and into adulthood with annual trips to “keep up their Spanish.” Plus it helps that Amy lives in Richmond, VA near Aly’s family and is always a must-see when in town.
Bridesmaid
Hannah and Aly met in Quito, Ecuador during their 5 month exchange program. Living only a few blocks away, they took the bus together every day to school and every weekend to a new city in Ecuador. They’ve been through their fair share of wild, unforgettable situations together, but if anything, those moments have only made them closer. As part of the “3 Gringuitas,” they’re the ultimate travel trio, always planning their next adventure. Their annual trips have taken them to places like Costa Rica, Colombia, Mexico, Spain, and Portugal, with many more destinations still to come.
