We met in nursing school at Michigan State University. We were placed at the same clinical site and bonded over hour-long drives & Friday nights spent at the hospital. Then one day at Rama, we both had a few too many cheap pitchers of beer and began to really hit it off between flip cup and some late night food. When we went on our first date, Trent picked Natalie up from her apartment with some hot chocolate and plans for the evening. Trent asked Natalie to be his girlfriend in December 2015 and the rest is history.

We had an up north weekend planned with Hannah and Mike. We started our weekend out on Mackinac Island. Little did I know that Trent had big, big plans. We got all dressed up and made our way to the Grand Hotel for dinner. After enjoying a beer out on the porch, we decided to head to dinner. We were stealthily interrupted by a photographer near the entrance who offered to take some pictures of our group. He suggested the beautiful Secret Garden, and we followed him there. And that's when Trent got down on one knee & asked me to marry him - I said YES! We all celebrated with a delicious five-course meal and champagne at the Grand Hotel, then relaxed at the Cupola Bar while the sun set. Cheers to the rest of our lives!
