Question

What is Marsin?

Answer

Marsin is a Portage Canal-front property located on the Houghton side of the Canal, owned and operated by Keweenaw Land Trust. The land includes a 3 bedroom house for use during the entire event.

Question

Can we sleep there?

Answer

Yes! Camping is available on the property, separate from but nearby the event space. The camping area includes a fire pit and a porta-john available for use (Saturday night only). Please ask about accommodations for sleeping inside the house. Indoor lodging is reserved for traveling family and friends.

Question

Can we go in the Canal?

Answer

Sure! Marsin even has canoes for use during the reception. There is a small dock for launching. Of course, we just ask that you please be safe!

Question

Is there anything I can bring?

Answer

That’s very kind of you! The bride and groom will provide food, drinks (alcoholic and NA), and the usual wedding accommodations. We will also provide accommodations for this outdoor event, such as bug spray and sunscreen, along with a covered outdoor area.

Question

What’s for dinner?

Answer

The reception will include buffet style choices provided by La Cantina, a local authentic Mexican restaurant. Menu will include chicken, steak and vegetable options with sides.
