Trenity’s point of view: While Hunter was on tour during his first year of HTSM, they came to my church. Then the following Friday night they came to a sister church of ours to minister. I guess this would be considered our first interaction because he was standing at the doorway of the sanctuary greeting. I was going to attempt to ease on past him since I was very shy but my friend in front of me shook his hand. So I did too. Never would I have thought the boy that I didn’t even want to shake hands with that night would be the one whose heart I now love! Once we both arrived at the school our mutual friend Lexi, who’s also in the school, mentioned one to the other and told us we should pray about it. To which I responded “I did not come for that”. I wouldn’t even talk to him nor pray about it. But then one day we were in Biblical Finance and our topic that day was Giving. Our teacher assigned us all in groups with different topics to present to the class. Hunters group was assigned Giving. I sat in that class and listened to him pour his heart out to his peers about why we should give to God’s Kingdom. Not only financially, but giving ourselves completely. I truly believe the Lord turned my heart towards him that day. He was sharing one of the biggest things my father has ever instilled in my brother and I. Then a few weeks later we had a harvest festival at the church. While cleaning up, he had the blower and was cleaning all of the hay from the asphalt and he was covered in dirt. I told Lexi “he’s handsome”! A few weeks later we went on our first ministry tour and I got to watch him serve, preach, and just love God’s people. I saw a heart that loved the people of God as Jesus calls us to! I didn’t mind so much when Lexi mentioned his name anymore! Hunter’s point of view: I remember when I got home from my first year at HTSM I was struggling to know if The Lord wanted me to go back for a second year. After a phone call with Pastor Matt of HSTM, I learned The Lord had completely covered the funds for the year. He had done a miracle, and I could not ignore that, so I knew I needed to return for a second year. I was at a point in my life where I gave up seeking for a wife and just chose to trust in The Lord. I was desperately trying to draw near unto Him and get to know Him, and it wasn’t long until He completely satisfied my soul. I remember one night at the State Fair, my good friend Lexi told me she knows a girl who likes me, (She didn’t like me yet, Lexi was instigating) and when she told me it was Trenity, I didn’t think a lot of it because I just wanted to focus on The Lord. Not long later, we went on our first ministry tour for about two and a half weeks. Trenity and I were on the same group, and I thought she was very pretty and seemed nice, but I hadn’t even had a conversation with her yet. Then I heard her testify, and saw how the power of God would flow through her. There was a special anointing on her life, and I fell in love with it right away. All of a sudden, I had such an inclination that I needed to marry this girl, and I hadn’t even had a conversation with her yet! I finally got the chance to ask Lexi about her, and she told me she liked me too! From there we tried to talk to each other through our socially awkwardness and get to know each other more, and every time we would pray about it, The Lord would give us perfect peace. Every step of the way, God has given us peace in our spirits, and in our circumstances. After we graduated, she went back to Alabama, and I went back to Oklahoma. The few times I’ve visited, The Lord has just poured out His blessings on us and continues to confirm His will. He has provided for us every step of the way, and we are so excited to see what He has planned for us in our marriage and in the ministry! Never in my life have I experienced the confirmation and peace of God in such an important matter. I have no doubt that Trenity Butler is the woman God created me to marry!
