Tomasita was a few weeks away from graduating from Arizona State University when she went out with her friends one night. Tomasita and her friends were known for making their first stop of the night at Cue Club on Mill Ave. As the night progressed, Abel approached one of Tomasita's friends and they said hello. Tomasita's friend knew she had procrastinated, like always, and did not yet have a DJ for her graduation party. Her friend let her know Abel was a DJ and perhaps he was available to DJ that night. Tomasita told her friend to reach out to Abel and to give him her number. The next night Abel text Tomasita and the two began to make plans for Graduation. Abel was hired to be the DJ at Tomasita's graduation party and at the end of the night the two said their good bye's. However, Abel later text Tomasita and asked if he could continue to contact her which Tomasita agreed. The two shared multiple texts and phone conversations and were set for their first date to watch the very first Avenger's movie (which Abel complained about because he had to sit very close to the screen ;)) For about 2-3 months Tomasita and Abel maintained contact even while Tomasita was with family in Illinois, where she had originally planned to move out to after graduation. Tomasita decided to stay in Arizona and Abel and her continued to be friends. Abel asked Tomasita to be his girlfriend on August 22nd, 2012 and the rest is history.

In Fall of 2013, Abel and I decided to move in together after a year of dating. Shortly after we found out we were pregnant. We were both scared but also overjoyed. Mr. Joaquin came into our lives on Saturday, August 23rd, 2014. About 10 months later we found out we were pregnant again with Hazel. Ms. Hazel came into our lives on Wednesday, March 2nd, 2016. We are grateful for both little treasures. Although parenting presents many challenges, we enjoy seeing both of them grow and begin to partake into their own personalities and sense of self. Joaquin is somewhat timid and shy while Hazel is Miss Sassy pants.
