Daniel and Ashley met in 2019 through a mutual friend while attending Marquette University. Dan asked Ashley on a date during Fall of 2019, but Ashley was leaving to study abroad in Ireland so that date did not happen! About a year later, after the return to campus after COVID-19 sent all students home, Daniel began asking Ashley out on dates again! It took a few tries, but timing finally worked out. They planned their date for October 15, 2020. Dan told Ashley he made reservations at Screaming Tuna for dinner, and bought three different types of wines because he did not know which she would like best (cute!). Ashley was working three jobs and Daniel was a D1 athlete, so this date was planned two weeks in advance. At the beginning of the first week, Dan texted Ashley, "There has to be a way I can see you before next Thursday, even if you only have a few hours." Ashley told Daniel, "I am getting breakfast with my Godmother and Uncle on Sunday, but I will be free from noon until 2 p.m." Dan said that was perfect and he would plan the date! That Sunday (October 11, 2020), Dan picked Ashley up at her apartment and first took her to Collectivo on the Lake, and then to Summerfest Grounds where they walked and talked for too long (yes they both were late for what they had planned next!). They wasted no time in making things official, and by October 24, 2020 they were boyfriend & girlfriend. Since then they have been inseparable and always knew they would be making memories together for a lifetime. <3 P.S. - Dan proposed on May 3, 2024, at the rocks where they sat on Summerfest Grounds on their very first date!
