Question

When should we RSVP?

Answer

Please let us know if you are attending ASAP. As this is a destination wedding we would like to know the numbers early!

Question

What is the weather supposed to be?

Answer

Juneau weather in August is some of the warmest weather you'll experience when traveling to the state. The high average is 63 degrees and the low is 50. Juneau is a rainforest! Dressing in layers is recommended. Bring raingear/umbrellas and do your sun dance.

Question

Should we rent a car?

Answer

Yes if you have that option. The Ceremony will be taking place at the old Treadwell Gold Mine on Douglas Island, while the reception is back in downtown Juneau on top of Mt. Roberts. Uber is non-existent in Juneau however there are taxi services that will take reservations if called in advance.

Question

Will the town be busy?

Answer

There will be 4 cruise ships docked in downtown Juneau carrying roughly 9000 tourists on August 17th. It is a good idea to book accommodations early and make reservations for excursions as soon as possible.

Question

What kind of wildlife will I see?

Answer

The street lights on the way to downtown will most likely contain eagles drying out their wings. Humpback whales are also common from April - November. We recommend bringing binoculars as you may be able to spot Dall sheep on the hillsides!
