For some context, today is Tre’s 20th birthday and Madi is planning a surprise escape room and dinner! Madi worked with not only her family, but Tre’s family to plan this surprise, but little did she know everyone already had a different plan. Tre already told everyone that he was planning on proposing that day in the escape room! So both of our families had to keep two completely different stories straight and Tre had to act like he did not know a thing! On the way to the escape room, there were quite a few slip-ups, mostly from Jordan and Lisa, about Tre’s “surprise” plans, but not once did anyone mention anything about Tre proposing, so Madi did give them props and was very proud of them in the end. Now onto the actual proposing part! Tre proposed right at the very end of the escape room with not only Madison’s family, but Tre’s parents as well! The escape room was called Narco and was actually about drugs, which leads us to the first part of this proposal video. Madison was fully focused on winning this escape room that once the last decision had to be made to win, she ignored the “Will you marry me?” sign and the “Yes” and “No” levers that were right in front of her! Like eye-level and everything; she still missed them. So as Madison noticed Tre on the ground, she full on thought he was holding one of the drug boxes that were part of the room and thought he was completely joking. With this horrible “joke” in Madi’s mind, she picks the correct lever to win the escape game, but coincidentally, it happens to be the same lever that the “No” is written on that Madi is still absolutely oblivious too. At this point Tre is extremely nervous and both of our families begin to sweat. Finally, as if the message got sent to Madison’s brain by God himself, she understands that this is real life and Tre was indeed not joking. Long story short, Madi busted into tears, Lisa busted into tears, and then everybody busted into tears. It was the best proposal that neither Tre or Madison would ever change! <3 Another Fun Fact: Whenever Tre went to get on one knee and open the ring box, he accidentally opened the ring box upside down! Madi thought it was hilarious afterwards! :)
For some people this may be obvious, but for others, this might come as a shocker! Madison and Tre met in 4th grade at Webster Elementary School! One of the most memorable memories is one only very few people know. For our 4th grade field trip, our teacher, Mrs. Morgan, took her class to a zoo not to far away from Webster. One of the really cool selling points of this specific zoo is that they offered Camel rides. So two to three kids could hop up on this huge camel and ride it around in a circle with a zookeeper leading it of course. After a couple of kids ride, Madi and Tre are getting closer and closer to the end of the line. Finally it is Tre, Madi, and her friends turn. Tre walks forward to let me and my friend go and not even a second later, this humongous camel turns his head around and latches its mouth right onto Tre’s head! Madison was in absolute shock and watched the whole thing happen, but could not say a word to help the poor little Tre! Tre was soaked, absolutely soaked in this camels saliva! It was horrible and embarrassing for Tre since the whole class witnessed this near death experience, but there was not one person who could keep a straight face! From then on, everyone called Tre “Camel”, and Madi’s friendship with Tre became rock solid! Another Fun Fact: Tre and Madison actually liked each other in 4th grade and got teased on a lot because of it, but neither one of us told the other person! ;)
Simple question really, Tre sent Madison “Remember me?” and she instantly responded with “Of course! Can’t forget Camel!”. Funny thing is as this conversation was happening, Madi was playing an AirPictionary game that involves sharing your screen to the TV. If you don’t know what screen sharing is I will give a baby definition. Basically my whole phone screen was on the TV for everyone to see. So any private text messages became the family text messages. Instantly Jordan yells “Madi! Who is Tre?!” with a huge smile across her face. Madi then explains the whole Camel story and now everyone was on the same page. The conversation continued with Tre trying to impress Madi by his cool quad racing/riding skills and ended with Tre asking for Madi’s Snapchat. The rest is history!
Tre just had to include this story in here for all to read! Our first date was after one of Tre’s races. Madi and her mom (Lisa) were STARVING, so Tre took us to the local Olive Garden by his house. Dinner definitely did not go as expected. The waiter brought like 20 different appetizer plates and brought a salad bowl FULL of extra salad dressing for Lisa! But the most memorable part for Tre was when Madison subconsciously wiped her hands on Tre’s jeans! Madi’s defense was there were so many plates and no napkins, but Lisa was not on the same page. You guys know that one emoji that has a person with their hand on their face, kind of like facepalming, yeah Lisa did that but in real life. Tre goes “Did you just wipe your hands on my pants?” and Madi replies with “Ummmmmm noooooo…”, knowing for a fact that’s exactly what she just did! Madi was embarrassed, but Lisa was far more embarrassed. This is the exact moment Tre firmly believes he knew that Madison was the person he would marry! <3
