Take a stroll and explore historic downtown Charleston. From the architecture to the history, there is plenty to keep you busy! Shop for Charleston souvenirs at the City Market or taste some Charleston cuisine at one of the many restaurants downtown. There are several historic houses that offer tours or you can even take guided walking tours of Charleston. Make sure you wear your walking shoes!
Sit back and take in the views of the Charleston Harbor from a swing on the pier. Keep an eye out for dolphins! The Charleston Pineapple fountain is located in this park and is the symbol of Charleston.
Charleston is home to many breweries that we love to frequent on the weekends. Spread throughout the Charleston area, you're always a few minutes away from one. Some of our top recommendations for a self guided brewery tour are Munkle Brewing Co., Fatty's Beer Works, Edmund's Oast Brewing Co., Cooper River Brewing Co., Lo-Fi Brewing, Palmetto Brewing Co., and Freehouse Brewery. There are many more in Charleston and you can't go wrong with any of them!
If nature, gardens and history intrigue you, check out one or several of the plantations in the area. Head to Middleton Place, Magnolia Plantation & Gardens, Drayton Hall, Boone Hall Plantation or McLeod Plantation.
While you can't go wrong with any of the beaches in Charleston, our go to is Folly Beach. With a laid back beach town atmosphere, it's easy to relax and enjoy yourself on Folly. Take a walk on the beach and search for shark teeth and shells. Afterwards, enjoy a cocktail and seafood at restaurant along Center St. Snapper Jacks offers a rooftop bar with views of the ocean! Lost Dog Cafe is one of our favorite breakfast spots, only open for breakfast and lunch.
