Mia & Ben's story starts off with the classic "girl walks into the bar (HG SPLY), boy proceeds to say nothing out of nervousness." But after an hour of working up the liquid courage, boy finally asks girl for her number over a game of Mario Kart. The rest is history. From the jump Ben was ready to date, but Mia, having moved to Dallas 3 days prior to meeting Ben, was a little more hesitant. Who could blame her? New city, new opportunities! But Ben's stubbornness would prevail...I mean he had a head start over all the other guys in the city. The daily text conversations soon turned into voicemails left during Mia's evening shifts at Maggianos. Katy Trail walks unfolded into Sushi picnics overlooking the Dallas skyline...or lack thereof. Their two lives quickly molded into an adventure of navigating the potholes of Dallas as they explored the city together. And after 3 weeks, Mia finally agreed to officially start dating Ben. As the weeks turned into months, the two realized the inevitable. They were best friends. There was never a dull moment between the two. Whether it was Mia's impulsive bursts of kitchen dance-offs or Ben's deafening reenactment of classic Disney songs, the two would match each other's energy (& weirdness). On the flipside, when life brought along hardships neither of them budged from the other person's side. When one stumbled, the other became the crutch. It was the first for either of them when they recognized they could be perfectly imperfect and love one another for the person they are today while embracing the ambiguous change of the future together. One of these changes came on June 22nd when Mia picked up her son, Charlie, from Fort Worth. Yes... we call our dog, Charlie, our son. Deal with it! Another change came a few months later in May when Mia decided to re-accept Christ as her Lord & Savior at church where she was baptized by Ben. These two changes took their relationship to new places. Through God, they learned how to love one another better. He provided them with a community in Dallas to call home. And He laid the foundation for their future together. As for Charlie, that energetic fur ball can be described by the camera roll in their phones. Just ask them and they'll show you! Now this is just the beginning of our story. God has blessed us with so many loved ones who share in it. If you're reading this, then you know you're one of these people.
