In 2021, we met as two young people simply on fire for Jesus. What started as a genuine friendship quickly grew into something special. We became incredibly close — best friends who encouraged each other in our walk with God. At that time, neither of us had any romantic interest in the other whatsoever. We were just grateful for the friendship the Lord had given us. But in 2022… there was a little kingdom shift 🤣. During a youth lock-in, while crying out to God during worship, the Lord spoke to Tray’s heart and revealed that Shamar would be her husband. Of course, she went back and forth with God like, “Lord… did I hear You correctly?” 🧐 Fast forward about five months later, and our friendship had only grown stronger. On August 4th, 2022, Shamar sent a message confessing his feelings and sharing that he felt God had been nudging his heart that Tray might be his future wife. He even said that if we both somehow heard wrong, we’d just laugh about it years later and keep it moving. But clearly… God knew exactly what He was doing. Now, three years and seven months later, we’re preparing to say “I do” under God and step into the covenant He ordained. As Scripture says, “What God has joined together, let no man separate.” And in Genesis 2:24, it reminds us that a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two become one. We are so excited to step into this kingdom marriage — partnering with God to advance His Kingdom, walk together in purpose, and become everything He has called us to be. Our prayer is that our union reflects Christ, glorifies God, and serves as a testimony of His faithfulness. And this is only the beginning of our story 🤍 Many more beautiful moments are still to come.
