On a Monday evening, Steven and myself walked into a gym with the expectations to jumpstart our week with an intense workout. Little did we know, that this step towards a healthier life would end up being the first step towards the happiest life together. Steven was occupying the treadmill as I walked up the stairs. I looked to see if the elliptical was available. While searching, Steven thought that I was looking at him the entire time. After completing my warmup, I figured it would be best to stretch and that’s when things began to get exciting. Steven then walked over and said “I need to be doing what you’re doing”, I conveyed to him that he should stretch because it helps loosen up the muscles. We talked and talked until the gym closed and we had to leave. We continued our conversation outside. We exchanged numbers and went our separate ways. Talking until the gym closed became a regular routine of ours. Throughout our many conversations, we found out we were both in the medical field. One day after our workout we helped an elderly lady with Dementia, whom wandered away from home. The way we worked together to assess her was amazing. She was the first of many to tell us that we were a cute couple, but we weren’t a couple. We went on our first date and a couple said “you two look great together, how long have you two been together?” The look on our faces had to have been priceless. They looked at each other and said “omg, this is your first date!!” We laughed and said yes! After that date we were pretty much inseparable. A year later he proposed to me at his mother’s party. Of course I said YES!
