In the 24th season of the Bachelor, Peter Weber, a 28-year-old pilot was looking for love. I, on the other hand, was tuning in every week in order to drink red wine with my friends from work. And Travis, despite having no interest in the show, kept showing up. Unfortunately, after an emotional season of weekly alcohol soaked viewing parties, Peter did not find love. But, Travis and I continued to hang out even after the final rose was handed out. Through COVID quarantine, an impromptu trip to Lopez Island to meet his family and the first dinner date 9 months into dating, we realized early on how much we love spending time together. When I started medical school in 2021, we continued to date long-distance. Travis would drive up on weekends to make dinner and grocery shop in a phase when I barely had time to shower. Again, he kept showing up. Travis eventually moved up to Washington to live out his life-long dream of being a golf pro and for the first time in two years, we were in the same place. We then moved to Boise, back to Portland and will move again after I match for residency in the Spring. Our lives have been chaotic and full of moving parts, but one thing has been consistent: Travis keeps showing up. I feel so grateful for our relationship and all of the support we have received surrounding it. We can't wait to share and celebrate our love with all of you. Cheers!
