One of the reasons we drink far too much wine and ended up in the Catskills. Visit our friends Kortney, Lupe, and Stella, and pick up a bottle or two or six from her amazing selection of natural and organic wines. ***Tell her you're here for our wedding and you'll get a 10% discount on your purchase(s)!***
One of the newest additions to Andes, Weaver Hollow Brewery makes slow and naturally fermented ales. The tap room will hopefully be open and operating by Labor Day, and is right next to the Rail Trail head, (walkable from Main Street). Post hike beers are never a bad idea.
Stephanie is a true artist, craftsman, and soulful human. She has become a fast friend to us here, and last summer you could have found Sarah there helping her in the studio most days. Her work is truly stunning, and if you can go there without picking something up we will be surprised.
A great local spot for breakfast or lunch. Open from 7 am to 2 pm every day, and dinner on Wednesday's. If the mood for pancakes strikes, this is your place!
One of our favorite hikes in the area, a full loop totaling about 4 miles. At the top you will find many view points looking towards Andes and the base of an old fire tower. In 2018 around 8/31 the trail was packed full of wild berries, so a tupperwear in your back pack is recommended.
In walking distance from any lodging on Main Street. The first mile is very flat and follows the old railway with many lookouts. There is then a 2 mile optional hike called the "bullet hole spur", that ends with a beautiful loop around an old pine tree plantation.
This is where our ceremony will take place, but we recommend coming here throughout your stay. An easy walk from main street, picnic friendly, and if it's warm enough, the Tremperkill runs right through it for a soak.
About a 20 minute drive from Andes, here you will find amazing baked eggs for breakfast and pizza for dinner. The eggs in red sauce and turmeric tonic are favorites. Plus they have Four and Twenty Blackbirds pie for people that get Brooklyn homesick.
