We met in Bethel, Alaska during a teacher training for our jobs. We worked at the same school in Kipnuk, with Travis teaching middle school and high school special education and Maureen teaching kindergarten. We began dating shortly before COVID started, and spent a lot of time together getting to know each other during the shutdown. After two years in Alaska, we made the move to Maryland with our two dogs, Willow and Stark to continue our journey in teaching. We got engaged in July of 2021, and put our wedding on hold with COVID restrictions still in place throughout most of 2022. We are very excited to be able to celebrate with all of our friends and family!
